Madman

Close your eyes, what do you see?

I see a Madman staring at me.

With smile split open-

by a thumb long a bony,

and cracks along pale brow.

He tips His hat-

at my sideward glance

to shadow lonely sockets.

A pinstriped suit-

coloured green and blue

ruffles on His slender corpse.

Heels click to the beat

of a pulse in retreat

as His skip dances closer.

He takes His hand in mine

With bloody eyes open wide

and calls my name over and over:

A whisper, a shout,

Voices screech to the sound

of a world twisted in crimson.

He presses on my chest-

to stifle my breath,

I gasp in a chokehold of black.

Fall down. Down.

Get up off the ground.

Waken lies remain unspoken.
